![]() I mean, it technically is kinda slow in the macro scale if you consider the tech upgrades you would want to have. In my current playthrough, I spent winter on Island 2 clearing out all the portals and securing the land. Originally posted by Zig:Only doing two islands before winter is too slow. If you want to beat the game in one reign, you should finish everything well before day 100, which means moving on much quicker than you did. ![]() The revenge greed waves after destroying portals get worse every time, no matter how many days you have stayed on an island. It is too powerful to get so late as you did. Just give up your crown, continue in the next reign and enjoy and learn the game.Ī few tips: Try to go back to island one asap to get the archer buff. So don't worry, everything is as it should be. Finishing a game in one reign is actually difficult until you understand all the game mechanics very well and is even worth an achievement. Greatest benefit of this is, that the days are reset and so are the greed. It will still be the same islands and your buildings will be there, albeit some of them in ruins. At this point, you have little choice but to die and continue the game playing the heir. As the days of your reign progress the greed do become more and more aggressive (including breeders every night) until it is impossible to stand against them. Hi, your experience has little to do with the newest update, I think. ![]() Am I *supposed* to die to progress or something? Does that reset the Green waves but lets me keep my buffs or something? I dunno. Help? I want to keep playing this game, but post-patch I can't survive. But I'm willing to try new tactics because, as I said, I've only owned the game a few weeks at this point (but have logged an embarrassing amount hours between Steam and Switch (had a few days off and wasn't feeling well, so I just Two Crowns'd the hell out of those days). I probably wouldn't have purchased it twice had I played it post-Conquest patch game seems a lot less fun to me now. And the Greed didn't wreck walls so easily. I definitely liked the game more pre-patch, when Archers felt useful. They just demolish everything and leave when the sun comes up. Every night the Breeders come and that's it. I can't progress my camp's walls further because now I'm broke. Only the Breeders arrive with every wave now and demolish my walls. So I, with a full coin pouch, rush to start building my walls to stone. ![]() So I decide to head back to Island One after the second winter to get the Archer buff statue unlocked, only the kingdom is in shambles. Maybe it's just me, but I even stick around to keep throwing them coins. My Squires, even buffed, can't take down Dock Portals post-patch. My archers are less effective, even with the Builder buff unlocked to reinforce my walls to buy them some time. Now post-Conquest Patch, the Greed by this point are mutilating my walls but I can hold them. So I survive the winter and move to Island Three. On Island Two I build up and try to not move to Island Three until the first winter passes because the first two times I played, I moved to Island Three and then winter screwed my economy and I couldn't win. Get to Island Two by the 8th to 10th day because I like to take SOME time to enjoy a build up. Let me explain so maybe more experienced players can explain what I'm doing wrong here. Post-patch, the game just stopped being fun for me. At least for me, the game wasn't too hard nor too difficult. I loved it so much I bought it again on my Switch. Pre-Conquest Patch or whatever it was called, I owned the game for about 2 weeks.
